Old News

News (7th May 2002):  New MilkDrop v1.03beta2 is out Details and download Click here.

Also Milkdrop is going to be 1 year old on the 11th May and to celebrate we creating a best of collection of all the presets. All you have to do is attach a zip with your Top 40 presets. These will be collated and the complete collection of the favorite presets of the past year will be posted on the main download page. You will make a difference. (It is a pain to trawl through the loads of presets, this way we can finally have a collection of all the favourite. Click here for the details. Please vote it will help us all and that way we can create more presets like the ones YOU want!

News (27th April 2002):  OK finally updated the presets in so adding 100+ to the collection. Hopefully I have not missed any. Let me know if I have.

Also used a new compiler thus making all the preset pack about 1/4 of the size!!! (e.g. All 2001 preset pack was 495KB now just 114KB). So we all win there.

MilkDrop v1.03 will be hopefully out in a few days. When it is out you will all need to download the presets again as a few hundred will need to be changed to account for Ryan's dodgy code with the dx/dy offset. I will upload all the preset packs when this version is released (that is one of the reasons that I have not updated this site for a bit, just waiting for v1.03).

News (23rd April 2002):  Sorry folks no updates for a bit to the website. Hopefully I will get things sorted this week.

News (11th April 2002): Not much this week on the site. Still waiting to hear back from Ryan as to when the new version of MilkDrop will be coming out.

I have been working on some new presets. See my Harlequin's collection very colourful and some of the best stuff done on MilkDrop so far. Warning do not take hallucinogens!

News (4th April 2002): Updated the Authoring Guide (in Word only so far) to version 1.7. This time 3 or 4 pages added making it a total of 34 pages now. A walkthrough of Ryan's 'Shift' preset talking in detail about beat recognition. Also I updated some more information on Borders and Motion Vectors.

Also been working been trying to troubleshoot some errors with the dx and dy values with nVidia cards and the different texture sizes in MilkDrop. And getting there with the solution so MilkDrop v1.03 may be around the corner.

Note: MilkDrop still runs fine with nVidia cards it is a small but annoying alignment bug where some presets are slight off when there should be no movement at all on the screen MilkDrop moves it a little. It only really effects a few presets.

Old news: The authoring guide is also available in html format here (thanks Matt W. for the conversion). Converted the preset packs from zips to auto-installing NSIS files. Compressing the larger collections up more.
